Past

Soyan was born within a clan of Ice Fae who lived within the far north. This location was perfect for their solitary nature. He was the project of politic rather than love. His mother had been just below royalty, but this high standing within their society didn't stop her from being born grotesque. Try as they might, neither her parents nor she could convince anyone within their social circle to look beyond her appearance and marry her. They knew if she wasn't wed by a certain date that her status and everything that went with it would be strip from her. They decided that if she could show herself fertile that others would look past her physical form and marry her. She wouldn't just have to become pregnant, but she would have to carry the child to term and delivery a perfectly healthy baby. There was no doubt within their mind that she was up for the task.

They began to look around for someone willing to impregnant their daughter, and it didn't take them long to find Soyan's father. He had been born within one of the lowest stations within their society, but he dreamt of reaching the status that Soyan's mother hold. However, the only way he could reach it was to have a child with someone of that status, and for them to acknowledge that child as his. He agreed to impregnant their daughter in exchange for them identify him as the father publicly. They accepted his terms, and he immediately went to work. It didn't take Soyan's father long to impregnant his mother---a fact his father was grateful for since he was repulsed by her looks just as everyone else had been. When Soyan was finally born his had suitors lining up to marry her, and she was wed not long after. His father was married to a woman of the social standing he rose to not long after Soyan's birth, and rumors say he had wished to rise so badly because he had wanted to marry her.

Soyan received little love and attention from his parents unless they were trying to impress those within their social circle. In fact, it wasn't just his parents who ignored him, but the rest of his people as well. when they did notice him, they often commented on how intelligent yet cold he was. None of them had any idea how much he simply didn't care for them until after he turned sixteen. Humans had taken noticed of the land the Ice Fae called their own and wished to make an arrangement that gave them access to these land as well as trade other goods. The Ice Fairies refused. They heard stories of man. How they were never true to their word, and how they often turned on those who made agreements with them. Soyan not sharing their sentiments decided to make his own deal with man. He told man that he would give them the ice fae's land in exchange for them welcoming him as a high member within their society. They would provide him his estate, and everything else he might need to integrate as a productive member of the elite. The only thing he asks was he wasn't required to follow the custom and laws he didn't wish.

Understanding perfectly well what he intended, they agreed as long as he was willing to get the blood upon his hands. Soyan was not only willing, but he slaughtered every last one of his people himself. Once the task was completed, Soyan set out to explore the human and it didn't take him long to get into the slave trade. He greatly enjoys finding and training slaves and has become quite renown as a trainer. Most of those he trained he sells, but every now and then he keeps one for his personal use. Eventually, he meets an angel who joins him within the slave trade business. Their partnership continues to last. Over the years, Soyan has had many lovers, but he loved none of them. Many including himself believe he is incapable of such an emotion. In fact, if one had asked him, he would have told them that love didn't truly exist. That was until he met her.

She was a witch who had searched the world looking for the perfect man to have a son with. She had her eyes set upon the throne of her people, but as a female she knew that she was ineligible to inherit it. She, also, knew that if she had a son with another of her kind that the father would have absolute control in said son's upbringing. She concluded that the father had to be non-witch, but this wasn't the only quality that she wanted for her son. There were other traits, and after some consideration she decided that Soyan possessed enough of them to make a suitable match. Seeing a kindred spirit within her, Soyan agreed to have a son with her. He realized that they might have to try many times and might have several daughters before a son was born, but her first pregnancy ended up with the birth of their son Narcis.

What Soyan didn't expect, however, was to fall madly in love with both his son and the woman who gave birth to him. He doesn't admit his true feeling towards the witch because he believes if he does that, she will somehow use this knowledge against him. He wouldn't blame her if she did because he might do the same if their roles were reversed. However. the truth of his affection is clear for anyone who cared to look. He doesn't try to control or break her independence like he had all his other lovers. There is, also, the fact he will come to her aid whenever she asks. While he is silent with his affection regarding his witch lover, he is very vocal about his love for his son. He became the father that his own had never been. He provided Narcis with everything he desired and delighted at everything that he did.

It came to no surprise that Narcis loved his father greatly and was quick to swear vengeance upon the woman that slighted Soyan by running off to be with a scholar instead of marrying him. While Soyan hadn't cared that this woman had ran off to be with another, he supported his son's decision to seek vengeances upon her, and even helped him train for the task. At the age of eighteen, Narcis ascended to the throne of the witches, but he didn't forget his promise to make the woman who slighted Soyan pay. The day of retribution eventually arrived, but Narcis was unable to get it upon the one he intended. The woman had died giving birth to her and the scholar's daughter. He decided to get his vengeance upon the daughter, and when he noticed who she was married to Narcis knew he had to kill two birds with one stone.

The daughter was married to a dragon who had been the pet of Soyan's angelic partner, and he believed if he played his cards right that he could get back the property of the man he viewed as his uncle. Narcis came to Soyan and told him what he found, and Soyan agreed to help his son with his plan. Soyan approached the woman and told her that her husband wasn't what he appeared. He told her the truth of what he was---that he was a dragon--but the woman didn't care about this detail. She'll love him no matter his species. This was when Soyan started to lie. He told her that her husband didn't love her. That he only married her to have children with her--children that he intended to sell because half-breed garnered a lot of money. She didn't believe him, but he and Narcis had been prepared for this possibility. He told her the next time she saw her husband to say a phase he gave her, and it would reveal the truth.

The phase was a spell that Narcis had created to make her believe the lies that Soyan had told her, but there was no guarantee that she would utter it. They. however, had another plan just in case she didn't utter the phase, but to their amazement she did. It just took a few visits from Soyan before she decided that perhaps she should see if he might be telling her the truth. The spell didn't go as they intended. It made her believe the lies that Soyan had told her, but it also made her believe that her children were demons trying to steal her children, and slaughter all but one before her husband swooped down and rescued him. Seeing the severity of her injuries, Soyan decided to use is ice fae ability to preserve her and convince his son to bind her to his life force. The reason for his decision was simple the woman had been pregnant with his child. When the woman eventually awoke, she swore vengeance upon the dragon believing he was responsible for the death of her children and neither Soyan nor Narcis told her the truth. Nor has Soyan told her that he has taken one of her and the dragon's daughter as his personal pet.

Present

Over the years, Narcis has grown quite fond of the woman and vowed to make her whole. While Soyan's actions might have saved her body, it is debated how much her soul had reminded behind. What is known, however, is that a part of her soul returned to the life stream and was reborn. He vowed to help his son achieve his goal of making her whole, but it would be a while before they located the piece of her soul that had decided to return to the live stream. In the meantime, Soyan became quite a renowned psychologist. He is considered one of the best and is quite sought after. Those who can afford his services find that he is exactly what they hope for, but those who cannot often find themselves being brought into his slave trade.

Eventually he met man who fathered the incarnation of the missing part of his son's friend and tried to convince him to engage his daughter to Soyan. The father refused at first, but after his own wife arranged for their own daughter to be kidnapped and was killed in the process, he not only agreed to let Soyan become her psychologist but her betrothed as well. The truth of the matter was, Soyan had only wished to marry her as a way to keep her close until the moment Narcis decided to combine her with his friend, and being her daughter achieve this goal just as well. He doesn't outright refuse the offer, but he tells her father that everything she had endured they might hold off the engagement and if she develops genuine affection for him, they might return to the subject in the future.
